Science As Magic is a university-tested and proven method of using magic to teach audiences about science.

While exploring magic, audiences discover the fun of science. Every ‘Science As Magic’ program features a live scientific magic show, presented by a renowned, award-winning magician/ author of magic/ science books.

At these shows spectators see magic performed. They then learn how the tricks are performed, to construct them and perform them at school or home. The materials required for the tricks are inexpensive and generally found about the home.

Here’s the real magic!
The tricks in the show are all based upon scientific principles. As the spectators learn magic, they also learn the scientific concepts that make these tricks possible.

Students and audience members learn that science is both useful and fun. University studies and feedback have demonstrated that learning improves after attendance at a ‘Science As Magic’ (SAM) presentation.

When time permits, a question and answer session follows each performance. Teachers and librarians often capitalize on this portion of the presentation as “meet the author” programs.

Presented by the author at schools, museums, libraries and public venues, targeted on several levels, the performances range from simple science/magic shows for entertaining youth at libraries and grade schools, curriculum associated presentations at middle and high schools, and teacher training lectures at the in-service and university levels.
